Plagiarism Policy and
Penalties

Definition:

If you copy or imitate the language, ideas and/or thoughts of another writer and pass them off as your own original work, you have committed PLAGIARISM.   Plagiarism is cheating; and if you plagiarize, you will pay a hefty price.

Copying or Borrowing Assignments:
bulletYou will receive a grade of zero and will be reported to the Academic Dean if:
bulletIf you copy or rephrase another student's work
bulletIf you lend your assignment to another student to be copied or reproduced for my class
bulletIf you copy or rephrase someone else's work/material without citing the source(s)
bulletIf you copy or rephrase web page information without citing the source(s)
bulletIf you submit an assignment from another class as a substitute of an assignment for my class
bulletIf you have someone else write your paper and turn it in as yours.
Use of Critical Materials
bulletProtect yourself and your integrity by citing your sources in the body of your text.
